Ureshino Onsen Tea and Tofu

My tiger twin and I decided that we’d dedicate our last week to soaking in as many onsen as time allows, so today’s destination was UreshinoFamous for their tea, onsen that make the skin beautiful, and tofu soaked in onsen water that make the inside beautiful.  At first, upon arrival, the town didn’t seem to have much to offer, we were both a little confused directionally and couldn’t seem to make sense of the map.  Our first stop was to the visit the Catfish Goddess Shrine who bestows beauty, she was easy to find.  We then walked toward a river and on the way stopped at a footbath where we soaked our feet and put them in a foot sauna.  It felt sooo good to soak my super sore probably broken and bruised toe in the warm water.  There was apparently a waterfall nearby, but I’m not sure we found the waterfall as what we did find was more of a drainage ditch than a waterfall.  So we kept walking, found an adult shop, a love hotel, and then finally after asking for help reading the map, we found our onsen.  They didn’t open until 11am, but directed us to a place to eat an early lunch.  After walking back passed the foot bath, we found the restaurant.  A small locals restaurant, we were seated in traditional Japanese style, and had the best meal we’ve had so far.  I had Yodufu, which is Tofu boiled in Onsen water, light, fluffy, tempura, miso soup, Ureshino tea, and rice.  After taking in a lovely meal, we went back to our Onsen and soaked in tea water onsen bath outdoors, and lounged in the sun on rocks like lizards.  Our bus ride got us back to the train station 3 minutes early which was enough time to catch the early train back to Huis Ten Bosch with enough time to relax before heading in for our last Monday night of fire shows.  Thank you Ureshino, my skin feels beautiful and I feel nourished.
